Now part of the Carteret County Library system, this small library was originally formed as a volunteer library based on the need to in the Down East area. Volunteers of all types are still needed — from those interested in answering the phone or shelving books to those interested in helping with the children's reading program. There are many community programs and classes developing, including after-school homework help, knitting and scrapbooking classes, and book clubs. All the books in the library are by donation, so book donations are always needed and appreciated.
