The Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center is totally committed to the communities they serve and they welcome volunteers to help with all museum operations from carving demonstrations, school programs, daily greeters, event organization, Master Gardener landscaping projects, office assistance and building maintenance. Volunteers are needed to help with programs for school groups and bus tours, to assist staff with administrative duties, and to serve on committees and boards. The museum is open year-round and houses the area's finest collection of carvings and waterfowl art, and archives oral histories and artifacts from the Down East communities. The CSWM&HC also provides an active STEM education program for area students, working closely with partner organizations to reach classrooms across NC. For more information on the museum, see our Attractions chapter.
