The Beaufort Trolley, known as the Mullet Line Trolley, runs Thursday-Sunday in downtown Beaufort from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. The Trolley can also be rented for special events such as Birthday Parties, Reunions, or Weddings.
The Mullet Line name harkens back to the early 1900s when the railway system became prevalent in Beaufort. The Atlantic & North Carolina Railroad, later known as the B&M (Beaufort & Morehead Railroad) was advertised as "The Old Mullet Road" when a local entrepreneur, Anthony Wade, conceived the idea of marketing his fresh seafood along the rail line, which stretched from Beaufort to Goldsboro.
