The Boys & Girls Club operates a club in Beaufort, Morehead City, and Havelock. The Beaufort Club was the first in the county, opening in 1997 in the former Queen Street School. That facility has seen some renovation since that time, and the membership has grown. The Morehead City Club, known as the Sunshine Lady Club, is on the campus of Morehead City Elementary School. Attendees spend afternoon hours with directed programs of sports and interesting, interactive, positive goings-on. There is also a homework time. Club activities for kids from ages 6 to 18 are available on weekdays from 3 to 7 PM. Summer and holidays bring about expanded hours. Summer camps are also offered in full 10-week sessions or by the week.
