Ask the Beaufort librarians about two golden retrievers who visit the library and local schools to improve children's reading skills and interest in a program called, R.E.A.D., Reading Education Assistance Dogs.

Storytime is also offered for preschool children ages 2 to 4 years of age and their caregivers in the children's section at the Webb Memorial Library, 812 Evans Street in Morehead City, although it is not affiliated with the county library system. Groups should call ahead to arrange for storytime sessions. Call (252) 726-3012 for details.
