The Cedars Inn is just what you're looking for if you want to wake up to the sea breeze, watch the brilliant sunset on the ocean, or simply enjoy the porch view of dolphins and wild horses. Built in 1768 by William Borden to welcome weary sea captains on their voyages, the two-story house located in the historic district of Beaufort, NC, is filled with antiques. Guests may select from any of the six rooms which offer pleasing decor and the convenience of private baths. If you are bringing along the kids, ask about The Crew’s Quarters room with built-in single bunk beds. The Carolina Cottage, which can accommodate pets, has a separate porch and entrance, with a lovely sitting room, king-sized bed, and a jacuzzi in the private bathroom. Nested in The Cedars Inn, the La Perla restaurant offers a superior fine dining experience. Award-winning chef, Steve Smid, creates dishes with a Spanish and Latin American flair from local sustainable seafood and humanely-raised proteins from North Carolina. On the second Wednesday of each month, La Perla hosts wine dinners—five courses paired with five wines. The restaurant (open to the public as well as Cedars Inn guests) takes walk-ins, but reservations are recommended because of limited seating. Operating hours are Sunday, Monday, Thursday from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, Saturday from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
