Clawson's 1905 is a favorite destination of Insiders and visitors throughout the day and throughout the year. Clawson's has received recommendations from Frommer's, Fodor's, and Traveler Magazine. An architectural focal point in the middle of downtown, Clawson's 1905 is housed in what was Clawson's General Store back in the early 1900s. While you are there, check out their T-shirts or other Clawson's-branded merchandise, proceed to the living room and catch up with the world according to CNN or watch the big game in HD on their 50-inch Plasma TVs. Then move on to the pub and choose from one of their eight different beers on draft or from the best bottled beer selection in town. Clawson's specializes in North Carolina–crafted brews. Or if you wish, you can be seated upstairs or down for lunch or dinner. Lunch favorites include a long list of sandwiches and burgers and the Dirigible —a hearty baked potato stuffed with seafood, vegetables and meats. Appetizers include seared tuna, seafood creations and more. Dinner always offers fresh seafood, zesty ribs, steaks, chicken and pasta. Whether for lunch or dinner, Clawson's Seafood Bisque is extraordinary and is, singularly, worth a trip to Beaufort. Private banquet facilities are available, and Down East FolkArts Society concerts are performed here in the off-season. Clawson's is open year-round Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, Clawson's is open on Sunday for dinner. Clawson's gets crowded during the summer months, so reservations are suggested. No matter — it's worth the wait.
