For years North Carolina Maritime Museum's education staff has provided environmental education programs for kids and for adults. The programs focus on coastal habitats and are highlighted by trips to barrier island beaches, maritime forests, salt marshes and tidal flats. In the past, there have been trawling trips aboard a research vessel, bird watching, fossil hunts and kayak trips. All museum trips are guided. There is a charge for these fun trips, but it is worth it.
