A sign with a whale spouting (thus the Spouter Inn) marks the Front Street entrance to this intimate dining establishment, which is over the water and offers a panoramic view of Beaufort Inlet and Taylor's Creek. The Spouter Inn restaurant offers fresh local seafood, just off the boat. The lunch menu offers a unique selection of sandwiches, soups, salads and pastas. Sunday Brunch specials include seafood omelets, quiche, eggs Benedict and eggs Orleans. Dinner is as enticing with plenty of seafood. The sesame-seared tuna with a soy glaze, wasabi aioli and pickled ginger is a favorite, but the maple-bourbon barbecue ribs are tempting as well. The Spouter Inn has a waterfront deck and boat dock; you can come by land or sea. Dinner reservations are recommended.
The Spouter Inn also has its own in-house bakery, where fresh-baked desserts and breads are prepared both for the restaurant and the general public. Stop in the bakery and pick up a giant molasses cookie, an eclair or a slice of coconut creme pie—or order ahead and take a whole pie home for the family. The restaurant and bakery are open daily during the summer months. Call for hours during the off-season.
